OpenShift Virtualization
Administration II (DO256)
Transition your traditional virtual workloads to Kubernetes. Learn to deploy, configure, manage, and migrate Virtual Machines on Red Hat OpenShift using the OpenShift Virtualization operator. Prepare for the EX316 certification.
VMs on Kubernetes
Run and manage traditional VMs alongside cloud-native container workloads.
Live Migration
Perform zero-downtime virtual machine migrations across cluster nodes.
Advanced Networking
Connect VMs to multiple external networks using Multus and SR-IOV.
Storage & CDI
Manage virtual disks using Containerized Data Importers and DataVolumes.
Why OpenShift Virtualization (DO256)?
As organizations migrate away from legacy hypervisors (like VMware), the ability to run Virtual Machines natively on Kubernetes is becoming a highly critical skill. Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization (formerly based on KubeVirt) allows enterprises to manage VMs and containers on a single, unified platform.
The DO256 course provides deep, hands-on experience in bringing traditional VMs into the OpenShift ecosystem. You will learn to provision VMs from templates, attach complex storage and networking, and perform live migrations with zero downtime.
Prerequisite: Red Hat OpenShift Administration II (DO280) certification or equivalent Kubernetes cluster management experience is required.
